About Jack

A Proven Leader for Alberta's Conservative Movement

Jack Redekop is a lifelong Albertan, entrepreneur, and dedicated public servant whose career spans business, community leadership, and grassroots conservative politics.

Preparing the UCP for 2027

Chairman, UCP Election Review & Readiness Committee

In the 2023 provincial election, the UCP won a narrow majority after losing all its seats in Edmonton and 11 seats in Calgary to the NDP.

In 2025, Jack was appointed Chairman of the UCP Election Review & Readiness Committee. The committee was tasked with examining the challenges of the 2023 election and recommending improvements for the October 18, 2027 provincial election.

Under Jack’s chairmanship, the committee issued its report in February 2026 with 14 specific recommendations. To date, all 14 have either been implemented or are in the process of implementation. They include stronger financial and technical support for constituency associations, earlier hiring of key campaign personnel, and improved training tools and campaign programs.

Jack’s goal is to help the UCP prepare to win 60 or more seats in 2027 and to see the committee’s work through to completion.

Biography

Who Is Jack Redekop?

Jack Redekop is the founder and past President of Computer Upgrading Specialists Ltd. (www.computerupraders.ca). This Calgary-based organization has been a significant IT Project Management deployment and restack company since 1995. During that time, it has grossed revenues in excess of $50 million, and has paid over $10 million in taxes in support of Alberta’s economy. CUS employs a unique model of hiring IT graduates from Alberta’s technical schools, then deploying them into major corporation IT projects, and finally offering them to their clients for full time hire into their IT departments after project completion. As a result, this company has created full-time permanent positions for over 1800 of Alberta’s best technicians.

Jack turned the company over to his son in 2017 to concentrate full-time on his community and political volunteer activities. Jack was the volunteer President from 2005-2009 of the Trico Centre for Family Wellness, sheparding this community run facility from bankruptcy in 2005 through a major capital renovation to independent fiscal sustainability. For this he was nominated as “Volunteer of the Year” for the City of Calgary.

Jack continued his volunteer role as a Public Board member for the Alberta Funeral Services and Regulatory Board where he served as Treasurer and then Chairman. In 2023. Jack was honoured with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for his decades of volunteerism and his commitment to sponsoring grassroots democratic principles across Alberta.

Jack has been married for 48 years and is a proud father and grandfather of six. He remains deeply connected to the communities he serves. Jack brings decades of experience in fiscal sustainability as President of the Trico Centre for Family Wellness, Treasurer of the Alberta Funeral Services Regulatory Board, and over 25 years as a successful entrepreneur.
